The Painted Deck

52 weeks. 52 cards. 52 cocktails.

What started as a little accountability project has turned into something rather special.

The Painted Deck is an ongoing creative challenge to paint a cocktail onto every card in a standard deck of playing cards, one card at a time, week by week. A way to keep me focused, push my creativity and build a body of work, with a cocktail or two along the way.

As the weeks have passed, the project has grown into a collection I’m incredibly excited about. Each card has its own character, colour and personality, and together they’re becoming something much bigger than I first imagined.

The final card will be painted by the end of the year. What happens to the deck after that? I’m still deciding. Original artworks, a complete set, prints… there are plenty of possibilities.

One thing’s for sure - this is the place to be in the know.
